Agreement on public use of phonograms issued for commercial purposes (AGATA)

If you are planning to use sound records (phonograms) (both directly (through computer, CD, DVD, etc.) and indirectly - on radio or TV), pursuant to Point 3, Paragraph 2, Article 70 of the Law on Copyrights and Neighbouring Rights (hereinafter referred to as the Law), at least 3 days before the intended use of the above-mentioned, you must contact the Lithuanian Neighbouring Rights Association (AGATA), which represents Lithuanian and foreign performers and phonogram manufacturers, in order to obtain a licence authorising use of phonograms in public places. Article 55 of the Law stipulates certain payment to be made by every user for public use of phonographs to performers and phonogram manufacturers. Such payment to the holders of rights shall be paid through the association of collective administration of related rights - AGATA.
